Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Monfin LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Monfin mobile application (the "App").
By creating an account or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Monfin is a personal budgeting and expense-tracking application operated by Monfin LLC.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, please contact us at:
Email: [email protected]
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use the App, you may provide the following information:
- Account credentials. When you create an account, we collect a username and password. We do not require you to provide your real name.
- Email address (optional). You may add and verify an email address through your profile settings. If provided, your email address is used solely to help you recover your username or reset your password. Providing an email address is not required to use the App.
- Financial and budgeting data. To provide the App's core budgeting features, we collect information that you choose to enter, including account names, currencies, transaction amounts, transaction dates, notes or descriptions, and category names and icons.
The App does not connect to your bank accounts, payment cards, or other financial institutions. We do not collect or process your bank login credentials or payment card information.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
We may automatically collect limited technical information when you use the App.
- Push notification token. If you enable push notifications, the App registers a device token with Firebase Cloud Messaging, a service provided by Google. This token is used solely to deliver notifications to your device and is not used for advertising.
- Crash and diagnostic data. We use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information, such as device model, operating system version, App version, and crash or error information. This information helps us identify and fix technical problems and improve App stability.
- Server logs. Our servers may automatically record basic technical information associated with requests to the App, such as IP address, timestamp, and endpoint requested. We use this information for security, debugging, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not request or intentionally collect:
- Your real name;
- Date of birth;
- Physical address;
- Phone number;
- Government-issued identification;
- Payment card numbers;
- Precise location data;
- Photos or videos;
- Contacts;
- Biometric information;
- Microphone or camera data.
The App does not contain advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account;
- Authenticate you when you log in;
- Store and synchronize your budgeting data across your devices;
- Make your budgeting data available when using the App offline;
- Provide account-recovery functionality when you have provided an email address;
- Send push notifications that you have enabled;
- Diagnose crashes, errors, and technical problems;
- Improve the stability, security, and performance of the App;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your financial or budgeting data for third-party advertising.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
4.1 Our Servers
Your account and budgeting data may be stored on servers operated by us or by service providers acting on our behalf. This allows your data to synchronize across your devices and remain available if your device is lost, replaced, or reset.
Data transmitted between the App and our servers is protected using HTTPS encryption in transit.
4.2 Your Device
For offline functionality, the App stores a local copy of certain information, including your accounts, categories, and transactions, in a local database on your device.
This local data is protected by the security mechanisms provided by your device's operating system. We recommend using a device passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or another device security mechanism to help protect your information.
4.3 Home Screen Widget
If you choose to add the optional Monfin home-screen widget, the widget may display information such as the selected account's balance and recent totals on your device's home screen or lock screen.
Widget data remains on your device and is not separately transmitted to third parties through the widget.
Because information displayed by the widget may be visible to anyone who can view your device's home screen or lock screen, you should only enable the widget if you are comfortable with this possibility.
Signing out of the App clears the widget's displayed data.
5. Who We Share Information With
We share limited information with trusted service providers when necessary to operate and maintain the App.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests;
- Protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Monfin, our users, or others;
- Detect or prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents;

Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice regarding such a transaction.

If you delete your account through the App, we will permanently delete your account and associated data from our active systems, including your accounts, categories, and transactions, subject to information that we may be legally required to retain or that must be temporarily retained for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, or compliance purposes.
Some information may remain temporarily in secure backups before being automatically deleted or overwritten in accordance with our backup and retention procedures.
